A newly-wed groom left his wife and ran away while the couple was stranded in a traffic jam in the IT corridor of Mahadevapura. Reports suggest that the man was being blackmailed by his ex-lover, which led to him fleeing.
According to a report by The Indian Express, the 22-year-old wife got married to the man on February 15. She told the news organisation that her husband looked depressed after marriage, and on being asked about the same, he revealed the truth. On knowing that her husband’s ex-lover from Goa had been blackmailing him, she assured of standing by him.
At around 2:15 pm, on March 5, the couple was returning home from church. When their car got stuck in a traffic jam, the man opened the front door and ran away. The wife, reportedly, tried chasing her husband down, but to no good.
“We were unaware of his relationship with a woman we employed. She was not living with her husband and had children. She ended it (the relationship with the son-in-law) a few months ago as another man came into that woman’s life. This marriage was decided three months ago and he was pleased about it.” said the wife’s mother.
According to the wife, her husband is a BBA graduate and handles his father’s business of workforce agency in Goa and Karnataka. She also said that his ex-lover worked in their company in Goa.
