Several allegations have been levied against the president of Wrestling Federation of India and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Singh in two FIRs.
The charges include at least 15 incidents of sexual harassment that include 10 instances of inappropriate touching and molestation; at least two instances of demanding “Sexual favours” for professional help; and several instances of intimidation including stalking.
The first FIR includes the allegations of six adult wrestlers and it also names WFI secretary Vinod Tomar. The second FIR was filed following a complaint by a minor’s father, which also invokes section 10 of the POCSO Act, which entails five to seven years of rigours imprisonment
“Holding her tightly, pretending to get a picture clicked, the accused squeezed her towards himself, pressed hard on her shoulder and then deliberately…brushed his hands against his breasts…She clearly told the accused she had already told him that she was not interested in having any sort of physical relationship and that he should stop stalking her…” read the allegations made by minor’s kin.
