In a disturbing and appalling incident, a 10-year-old dyslexic girl has come forward with allegations of rape by her school principal in Bengaluru. Shockingly, the accused is not only the school’s principal but also the owner.
The 65-year-old suspect was swiftly taken into custody by the police in connection with the incident, which occurred on Thursday around 11:30 am within the premises of the school under the jurisdiction of Varthur police station. The incident has sparked outrage and concern, shedding light on the safety and vulnerability of children within educational institutions. According to the police report, the horrifying incident unfolded when the school principal enticed and led the 10-year-old girl to an empty classroom, where he allegedly subjected her to sexual assault.
Distressed and traumatized, the young victim mustered the courage to confide in her mother upon returning home. Deeply concerned for her daughter’s well-being, the mother promptly took her to a nearby hospital for a comprehensive medical examination. In the wake of the distressing revelation, the victim’s mother wasted no time in filing a formal complaint with the authorities. Consequently, a case was registered under the relevant sections of the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code, as revealed by a senior police officer.
Responding swiftly to the grave allegations, law enforcement acted promptly and apprehended the school principal on Thursday, ensuring that he was taken into custody for further investigation. Adding to the tragedy, the victim’s mother, a housewife, has been coping with the loss of her husband, who passed away in 2020 due to health-related issues, further exacerbating the family’s ordeal, as confirmed by the police.
